And the winner is...

Seeing it is Oscar week I thought I would tell you about the Old Post House's brush (literally) with the movie world.   Just after I was here for Ross and Olga's wedding in July 2009 the Old Post House secured a role in the movie Rokland (Stormland) just released Feb this year.  It's facade was painted red and its bit part was as a hotel/restaurant.  I have been told it looked so convincing that tourists and even some locals (obviously those out of the loop) were knocking on the door looking for accommodation or to book a table at the newly appeared restaurant in town.

After the filming the old girl was repainted white....which will explain why the paint looks so much fresher on her front than her rear!
(thanks to Sigga for the pics)

The official theatrical trailer for Rokland below.

I am waiting for the DVD to come out with English subtitles.

  4. I just saw this movie tonight as part of the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose California. I have been following your blog for some time and recognized the name of the town. Glad I was able to search your blog and find this posting. Have you seen the movie? My husband and I had mixed feelings about it.

Thanks for this and all your very interesting posts!
